Born in the Bronx NY, and raised in Atlanta GA. Jon graduated from Woodstock High School in 2010 and went straight to the military where he served his country for 4 years.
During his time in the military, Jon acquired numerous valuable traits; Respect, (Self)
Accountability, Hard work, and Leadership. Most importantly, he learned how to take and complete
orders with a deadline.
It is during his early years at Fort Bliss (TX) Jon was able to make the Post Travel Basketball Team
whereby he represented Fort Bliss. His team went to the nationals 4 times and won a national championship (2012-
13), Jon was named All-Tournament 1st team and All-Tournament Defensive player.
Due to his performance in the military, Jon received a basketball scholarship from Oklahoma City University, earning the opportunity to chase his dream of playing college basketball at an university. Jon studied Business and Mass
Communications.
In his 4 years of playing basketball at OCU, Jon finished with a record of 78-40. Consequently, He made it
to the national tournament 4 years straight, and in his senior year, he was named defensive player of
the year.
Over the years, his hobby has grown into a desire and passion to help young athletes; to grow and
mold their talent. Jon enjoys the process of hard work and watching players grow.
Jon Ellis founded JE Basketball and created it for the single purpose of improving and progressing young athletes; to bring out their strengths and to minimize their weaknesses.
I believe there is no such thing as an obstacle that cannot be conquered. Jon's mission is to help each
player to individually and collectively become a leader, and an elite basketball player.
